Smeg collaborates with Dolce&Gabbana

Italian fashion house Dolce&Gabbana has teamed up with appliance manufacturer Smeg to create a small electricals range.

The first examples of the collection, entitled ‘Sicily is my Love’, were previewed last month during Italian trade exhibition Salone del Mobile.

They were unveiled at an event hosted by Dolce&Gabbana at Milan’s Metropol: the venue which hosts the brand’s runway shows each season.

The range features blenders, coffee machines, stand mixers, kettles, toasters and juicers, crafted in celebration of the Italian heritage of both brands.

Each item is decorated with Sicilian motifs such as gold lemons and citrus fruits, pears and cherries. These are framed in traditional triangular Sicilian decorations known as ‘crocchi’.

Each model also boasts floral designs inspired by the coasts and landscapes of southern Italy and Mount Etna, surrounded by ornamental friezes and decorative leaf motifs.

Every product boasts a 100% unique pattern and is finished with the hallmark ‘Made in Italy’ emblem.

The appliances are expected to arrive by the end of 2017, in time for Christmas.
