As part of its ongoing expansion, appliance brand Smeg UK has boosted its sales force and marketing department with two new appointments.

Joining the sales team as regional sales support manager, Pina Brown is responsible for Smeg’s south-west and south Wales accounts and will focus on national customers including John Lewis, Currys, Homebase and B&Q. Centrally located, Brown will also provide training for retailers on product knowledge and selling skills, highlighting the USPs of Smeg’s vast product portfolio.
Pina Brown has a wealth of industry experience and was previously sales activation manager for Indesit, where she promoted Hotpoint and Indesit freestanding, built-in and small domestic appliances into multi-store channels, high street retailers, KBB studios and buying groups. She has also held training and sales roles at Miele and Whirlpool and will report to Aimee Drury, Smeg’s national account manager.
Laura Green has taken up the role of marketing executive. She joins from bathroom manufacturer Vitra where she spent two-and-a-half years overseeing its marketing, advertising, press and events. Prior to joining Vitra, she held a similar role at Becton Dickinson, a specialist medical technology company. In her new position, Laura Green will report to brand manager John Davies and will be instrumental in the implementation of forthcoming marketing campaigns and new product launches.
Smeg UK managing director Mike Giddings said: “We’re delighted to welcome Pina and Laura, two key new members of staff, to the team. This is a really exciting time for Smeg UK and these latest appointments reflect the brand’s ongoing expansion.”
