Snape & Sons wins Home Hardware Retailer of the Year award

Craig and Cheryl Snape of Snapes & Sons Home Hardware in Cheadle Hulme are the winners of the Home Hardware Retailer of the Year award.

The news was announced at the wholesaler’s annual Convention, held at The Woolacombe Bay Hotel in Devon on November 16.

In choosing a winner, Home Hardware took into account the professional approach to retailing including promotions, store layout, staff training, customer care and overall commitment to Home Hardware.

David Adams, chairman of Home Hardware, said: “I’m delighted that Snapes & Sons Home Hardware has won this award. The business was established in 1936. Derek Snape, the second generation [proprietor], recently celebrated his 92nd birthday and retired a few years ago. Craig, his wife Cheryl and their son Adam now run the business.

“In 2017 they opened an impressive two-storey 1,000sq ft of additional retail, storage and showroom facilities. Their retail sales have grown and their turnover with Home Hardware during the past few years has increased considerably.”

Craig said: “Everyone at Snape & Sons Home Hardware is honoured to have received this award. We are very grateful for the continued support from all the staff at Home Hardware who have the patience to deal with our never-ending calls. I’d also like to thank all our wonderful staff, who all claim winning the award is down to them – even the shop cat!”
