Bira (the British Independent Retailers Association) has secured four top retail experts to speak at its upcoming annual National Conference.

‘The end of the High Street or a new beginning?’ is the theme of this year’s event, which will tackle issues impacting independent retail and will feature presentations from, and debates with, retail commentator Kate Hardcastle, Action for Market Towns chief executive Chris Wade, Oxford Institute of Retail Management academic director Jonathan Reynolds, and speaker, trainer, author and consultant Warren Knight.

The High Street Conference will be held at the Four Pillars Hotel in Cotswold Water Park during the afternoon of May 16. It will be followed by the Gala Awards dinner in the evening, which will be hosted by TV and radio personality Gyles Brandreth.

The BIRA Direct Supplier Awards, Young Retailer of the Year Awards and Community Awards will be presented at the dinner.

Michael Weedon, bira’s deputy CEO and communications director will be a speaker at The Housewares Conference & Innovation Awards on April 16.
