Squire’s encourages kids to eat their greens

Squire’s Garden Centres is hoping to put the fun back into eating greens, with the launch of a new initiative for children.

Over May half term holiday (Monday May 30 – Friday 3rd June 3), the retailer is running a ‘Plant A Fruit & Vegetable Box’ scheme.

For £5.50, children can plant up a box at the garden centre with three plants (chosen from pepper, lettuce, tomato or strawberry), then take the box home to care for the plants and watch them grow.

Squire’s will also be running free ‘Create & Grow’ activities for children every day during the school break, including a colouring competition and Veggie Hunt which involves following a trail of questions around the garden centre and collect a sticker at the end.

Celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, Squire’s Garden Centres is a family-owned horticultural business that operates 15 centres across Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire, Middlesex, north and west London.
