Stax is helping raise funds for industry charity the Rainy Day Trust during the World Cup.
In the Everyone’s a Winner promotion – running in the four branches and on the Stax website – customers have the chance to win one or more of over 150,000 prizes by playing various games, including in-branch Spot the Ball.
For £1 per guess, Stax customers can play along for a chance to win one of four Sharp high definition LCD DVD combi televisions, with the proceeds – which Stax expect will run into thousands – going to the charity.
Stax joint managing director David Hibbert commented: “The giant Spot the Ball banners are 2.25 x 2m, which means there are over 11,000 squares on each of the boards. We’re hoping that our customers will be as generous as ever, so even if we were to sell only half of the squares on each of the four boards, we’d raise over £20,000, and if we sold them all it would be over £45,000!”
Stax is also launching scratch cards and online World Cup fantasy football.
The Rainy Day Trust is the charity that cares for past employees and families of the housewares, hardware, DIY, builders’ merchant and garden supply industries, who have fallen on hard times.
