Steamer Trading Cookshop’s Wells store opens soon

Steamer Trading Cookshop has revealed the launch date for its 37th branch.

The housewares specialist will open a new shop at Wells in Somerset on Saturday April 30.

The premises at 17 Market Place was previously occupied by Kitchenmonger cookshop, which had been trading on the site since 1998.

Steamer Trading Cookshop said it will continue to supply “the good people of Somerset with the best brands of kitchenware, delivered with the best possible levels of customer service”.

The retailer added: ‘The beautiful medieval city of Wells is considered to be the jewel in the crown of Somerset by its residents, and many tourists that flock to the area each year. Wells is the smallest city in England with around 12,000 inhabitants, but it can still call itself a city due to the 13th century cathedral which dominates the local landscape.

‘The Grade II listed building that now houses Steamer Trading was originally built around 1453, but modified significantly in the late 18th and early 19th century. The building you see today still retains much of its original character and nestles harmoniously within the historic Market Square, in the shadow of the cathedral.’
