The organisers of Cake International London – The Sugarcraft, Cake Decorating & Baking Show – have described last week’s show as ‘a fantastic success’.
The event, held from April 10-12 at ExCeL, attracted more than 20,000 cake enthusiasts, professional cake decorators and sugarcrafters, and received over 500 entries to its cake competition.
A host of special guests attended, including Mich Turner, who demonstrated her Easter Celebration Cake and Art Deco Butterfly Carrot Cake in the Cake International Theatre, as well as taking a slot in the Authors’ Kitchen to sign copies of her latest book.
Chocolatier Will Torrent was present throughout, hosting demonstrations in the art of chocolate tempering, while royal cake expert Eddie Spence MBE shared his talents in the Cake International Theatre. Authors Carol Deacon, Ann Pickard and Danielle Gotheridge were also on hand to showcase their skills and offer advice.
A wide range of cake decorating, sugarcraft and baking supplies was on offer from exhibitors including housewares names Knightsbridge PME, Little Venice Cake Company, Magic Knife, Bamix of Switzerland, BergHOFF Worldwide, Culpitt Cake Club, I Love Aprons, Whizzy Whisk, Renshaw and Silikomart SRL. Headline sponsors for the event were Kenwood, Knightbridge PME and Renshaw.
The next Cake International will take place in Birmingham from November 7-9 at the NEC.
