Tefal launches its first baking appliance: the Cake Factory

In what the company describes as a major NPD breakthrough, Tefal has launched the Cake Factory.

Designed to capitalise on the trend in home baking, the Cake Factory is Tefal’s first baking appliance – and is claimed to be the UK’s first and only precision cake maker.

The product features five automatic programmes that set the cooking time and temperature, with the option to switch to manual mode for bakers looking for more control. Smart Bake technology tracks the heat curve of the bake, which lowers automatically to give desserts such as molten chocolate cake its gooey centre. The Cake Factory also benefits from faster heat up and cook times compared with a conventional oven.

The appliance comes with accessories including PROFLEX silicone mini muffin and mini cake moulds and a non-stick baking tray and metal grid.

Users can find inspiration in the accompanying recipe book, or download an app to access recipes for more than 200 sweet bakes, including vegan, low-sugar and gluten-free options. The app also contains tips, guides and themed creations,

According to Tefal, ‘34% of UK households now bake at least once a week with cake being the nation’s favourite thing to bake. Interestingly, there is a 4.6% sales increase in the home baking aisle in grocers during ‘The Great British Bake Off’. But whilst home baking is hugely popular, it can be difficult, messy and stressful.
