Tewkesbury Cookshop in Gloucestershire is preparing to close its doors for the final time in mid-September.
Announcing the news on Facebook on July 16, the independent retailer said: “Bit of a sad post I’m afraid. The rumours are true – we will unfortunately be closing the Cookshop [in] mid-September. Thank you to everyone who has been a regular to us for all these years, and for your kind words when realising the shop will be closing.
“We’ve got no information about what will be happening to the premises, but for the sake of Tewkesbury we really hope another shop opens soon.
“We are so sorry that the shop has to close. We’ve tried everything we can, but unfortunately our personal circumstances have made it impossible to continue in this economic climate. At this time we would like to urge everyone to support local businesses rather than shop online where you can!”
