The Conran Shop launches new look for Marylebone store

Originally a stable building at the north end of Marylebone High Street, The Conran Shop Marylebone offers three floors of contemporary furnishings, ‘one-off’ pieces of furniture and accessories including housewares.

The branch has been redesigned in a project led by the brand’s chairman Jasper Conran. It follows a refurbishment of the Conran Shop’s flagship Chelsea branch last summer.

The retailer says that “combining vintage pieces with contemporary classics”, its new space houses “an eclectic edit of furnishings, home accessories and gift items”.

The revamped Conran Shop Marylebone will feature a homeware and furniture section on the top floor, titled The Conran Apartment. Home to “iconic furniture, original artwork and exclusive objects that capture and inspire the Conran way of life,” it will feature pieces by designers such as Ray Eame.

The second floor is home to a kitchen store, which the Conran Shop describes as having a “market feel”.

On the ground floor, the Conran Shop is partnering with Caravan and St John Bakery for the newly introduced Conran Kitchen. This floor will also include the children’s shop and the gift section

The launch weekend will include talks and demonstrations, with food and drink tastings in the Conran Kitchen alongside chocolate tempering with Creightons and a SodaStream pop up bar.

There will also be an Ilia make-up master class, a fragrance consultation from Eight & Bob, and la lesson in how to share images with the new Lomography Smartphone Scanner – plus a host of children’s activities including story telling, face-painting and mask-making.
