The Direct Company achieves £20m of sales

The BHF Group’s buying arm, The Direct Company, has topped the £20m turnover barrier.
With an increase in business of over 15% last year the company has almost quadrupled its turnover in the past decade.

“There’s no secret to this,” commented managing director Paul Woolley. “More BHF Group members are using the service, they’re opening more accounts and buying more from their suppliers.

“We thought that 2007 and would be tough and it was,” he went on. “We think that 2008 will be tougher. Nevertheless, with the support of the membership we look forward to another very positive result at the end of the year.”

The Direct Company is a central buying and invoicing subsidiary company of BHF Group. Operating for the benefit of the 3,700 group members, it negotiates improved terms, deals and discounts with major suppliers and seeks to grow suppliers’ business with independents.
