Premium homewares & lifestyle brand, The White Company, has appointed Paula Nickolds to the role of CEO, succeeding Mary Homer.

An experienced executive leader, Nickolds has held positions as managing director and executive director of John Lewis, chair at Currentbody, advisory board chair at NearSt, senior advisor at McKinsey & Co, and most recently general manager commercial merchandise at Sainsbury’s.
Speaking on the appointment, Chrissie Rucker, founder and owner of The White Company, described Nickolds as: “A passionate, values-driven leader who brings with her a wealth of retail experience across lifestyle, home and fashion as well as a proven track record of customer service excellence.”
Commenting on Homer’s departure, Rucker added: “It has been such a pleasure to work with [Homer] for the last seven years.
“She has been instrumental in growing the business, providing transformational leadership and developing our culture and operational excellence. She led us successfully through the uncertainty of the pandemic and, has always put the customer and our people at the heart of everything we do.”
