The store will open on the site currently occupied by fashion retailer Next and will feature over 13,444sq ft (1,249sq m).

TK Maxx is a designer brands-for-less retailer implementing a ‘off-price’ concept which originated in the US. It sells designer and high street brands of homeware, gifts and accessories, womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, at up to 60% less than the RRP.

Buyers shop the world all year round working direct with designers and brand owners to negotiate deals on this season’s products at a fraction of the normal retail price. With a no frills store environment, further savings are also passed on to customers. A typical store stocks an average of 50,000 items, with daily deliveries bringing up to 10,000 new items to store every week.

TK Maxx launched in the UK in 1994 and now has over 260 stores across the UK. The Covent Garden store will be the 23rd TK Maxx to open in London.

Commenting on the new Covent Garden store, TK Maxx spokesperson Helen Gunter said: “We’re really excited to be opening our 23rd store in London. Our special concept of savings of up to 60% on quality brands and designer labels is a very popular choice with the savvy and stylish. Our stores flourish when we serve label loving bargain hunters so we look forward to welcoming Covent Garden’s smart shoppers.”
