Vileda invests £1million in TV advertising campaign

Investing more than £1million, the 20-second advert will focus on Vileda’s cordless 100˚C Hot Spray Mop (RRP £59.99) which is claimed to remove 99.9% of bacteria. The advert will be launched during primetime on Thursday (March 19) and run for a month across national and digital channels.

Vileda trade marketing manager Emmah Littlewood commented: “Our 100˚C Hot Spray Mop offers real innovation and this new campaign is designed to communicate the significant benefits the product offers as well as our ethos of Vileda products ‘making life easier’. As a household name in cleaning, we’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response to the new electricals range. However, we have more than doubled our annual advertising spend to reach new audiences and support our retail partners.”

Building on the company’s 60 years of providing cleaning technology to British homes, Vileda entered the electricals market last November. The past 12 months has seen the steam mop market grow to £64.8m and the fledgling cleaning robot market already reach £3m, it said.
