What More offers free confidential medical checkup for its entire workforce

What More UK, one of the largest houseware manufacturers in the UK and the organisation behind popular brand Wham, has recently implemented a programme to give each employee the opportunity to attend a health check, if they choose to take it up. Run by a qualified doctor, the purpose of the health checks are to give colleagues the opportunity to discuss any ongoing or previous health issues with a doctor, including any concerns or pre existing conditions.

It’s been widely reported that only 58% of GP appointments in England in August 2021 were face-to-face, compared with four in five before the pandemic in August 2019. This can leave people with concerns they aren’t willing to see a GP about, to avoid causing a burden on the NHS.

Company director Tony Grimshaw OBE, said: “It concerns me that people might have health worries they can’t get to a GP for. We’re very happy to invest in this initiative, even if it’s just for peace of mind it is well worth doing – and might even be a lifesaver in the worst case. We have a great team here at What More, and we want them all to be happy and healthy!”
