100 products selected for Trend Displays at Exclusively Shows

The organiser of next month’s co-located London trade shows Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical has revealed that a total of 100 products from exhibitors have been selected as ‘on trend’ by the event’s trend interpreter Scarlet Opus.

The trend forecasting agency scoured exhibitors’ product portfolios to identify their top 100. The chosen items will form part of Scarlet Opus’ 2019 Trend Displays, which are located in the Trend Hub located in the Atrium above the Exclusively Electrical hall.

The Trend Displays incorporate products that the agency thinks will hit the spot with three consumer and design trends that it predict will be big news for the upcoming seasons: Traveller (Autumn/Winter 2019-2020, Fellowship (Spring/Summer 2020) and Satori (Spring/Summer 2020).

TRAVELLER

Scarlet Opus said: ‘This trend is focused on restoring balance, order and correctness. A return to fine dining will begin to emerge, but not with the formality of fine dining of the past. This time it will be with a contemporary twist – friendly, correct and informal, but with all the expectations of a ‘special occasion’ requiring finery for a glamorous experience’.

Scarlet Opus has selected products that reflect this trend from Western House, The DRH Collection, T&G Woodware, My Gifts Trade, Candelight, LSA, Ladelle UK and KitchenCraft.

SATORI

Serenity, balance and preservation’ underpin this trend, Scarlet Opus said, ‘which reflects on the ‘Art of Living’: a recognition and acceptance that cements our relationships with what is real rather than virtual. Consideration and compassion are given to the natural world, and veganism, biodegradability, cooking from scratch all comes to the fore. [The message is] preserve you, and the planet, in order to maintain a balance and gain serenity. This trend calls upon materials that are honest, natural, durable, sustainable and carefully crafted with sensitivity to their location and use.’

For this trend, Scarlet Opus has selected products from Eurosonic, Mepal, Aydya, Le Creuset, My Gifts Trade, Ladelle UK, Royal Doulton, Hachette UK, Denby, LSA, Tatay and KitchenCraft.

FELLOWSHIP

Scarlet Opus explained that this trend ‘focuses on the ‘Power of the Collective’: rising up together as a community of collaborators with a display of strength and pride that resonates in craft practices, cultural diversity, local communities and creativity. Intense colour, pattern and material experimentation feature in an ‘anything is possible’ approach to product design.’

For this trend, Scarlet Opus has selected products from Ladelle UK, Benross Marketing, UK Thermos, Typhoon, Le Creuset, Sabichi Homewares, Scoville, T&G Woodware, My Gifts Trade, Auteur, Eddingtons, Hachette, David Mason Design, Brabantia, CIE Europe, KitchenCraft and Forma House.

Whilst exploring exhibitors’ products, Scarlet Opus also identified products from 10 exhibitors that reflect the essence of a new trend entitled Game Changer, which focuses on eco-friendly and sustainably made products.

The Scarlet Opus team will be on hand during the Exclusively Shows to discuss their Trend Displays with visitors. They will also conduct Trend Tours of the shows, pointing out items recommended as on-trend. These products will be highlighted around the Shows on exhibitors’ stands by a ‘Recommended Product Design On-Trend 2020’ badge.

Will Jones, chief operating officer of BHETA (British Home Enhancement Trade Association), which owns and organises the Exclusively Shows, said: “The ‘On-Trend’ initiative grows in popularity each year. It’s an ideal opportunity for suppliers to raise the profile of their products – plus it affords visitors to the show an excellent opportunity to view new, innovative and on-trend products that will help stimulate their offer.”

The free Trend Displays are open for the duration of the show and a Trend Wall in the restaurant will also highlight many of the award-winning products. Visitors can book a free Trend Tour online at https://www.exclusivelyshows.co.uk/scarlet-opus-tours

Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical will take place on June 11 and June 12 at the Business Design Centre in Islington. For more information, visit https://www.exclusivelyshows.co.uk/
