RKW has announced a series of senior leadership appointments designed to strengthen its commercial and category expertise as the business continues to evolve and expand across the UK retail market.

The changes include the appointment of Philippa Simons as Category Director for Cook and Kitchen, the promotion of Luke Taylor to Sales Director, and Simon Oliver’s appointment as Group Commercial Director.

Philippa Simons has been appointed as Category Director for Cook and Kitchen.

The appointments combine the addition of significant retail expertise with the progression of proven internal talent, reinforcing RKW’s commitment to delivering market-leading products, stronger customer partnerships and sustainable long-term growth.

Retail Buying Expertise Joins Housewares Division

Philippa Simons joins RKW with nearly 30 years of retail buying and category experience gained with some of the UK’s most recognised retailers.

Beginning her career on Asda’s graduate scheme in 1994, Ms Simons moved into housewares buying before joining Lakeland in 2005. During her 20-year tenure, she progressed from Senior Kitchenware Buyer to Head of Buying, ultimately overseeing buying across all product categories and leading Lakeland’s Design, Quality and Far East sourcing functions.

Most recently, Ms Simons held the position of Category Manager for Cook & Dine at Dunelm.

Her extensive experience in product development, sourcing, category strategy and retail buying will support the continued growth of RKW’s housewares business and strengthen collaboration with customers and brand partners.

Ms Simons said: “Having spent much of my career on the retail side of the industry, I’m excited to bring that perspective to RKW and work closely with both customers and brand partners.

“There is a significant opportunity to build on the strength of the housewares portfolio, develop innovative product ranges and create solutions that meet the evolving needs of both retailers and consumers.”

Luke Taylor Promoted to Sales Director

Luke Taylor has been promoted to Sales Director after seven years with RKW.

Luke Taylor has been promoted to Sales Director.

Since joining the business, Mr Taylor has held a number of senior commercial positions, including Senior National Account Manager, Head of E-commerce and most recently E-commerce Director. Prior to RKW, he gained valuable industry experience with Groupe SEB and Beam Group.

In his new role, Mr Taylor will lead the wider sales function, bringing a deep understanding of RKW’s customer base, brands and digital growth opportunities.

Simon Oliver Appointed Group Commercial Director

As part of the leadership changes, Simon Oliver has been appointed Group Commercial Director, expanding his responsibility across the wider RKW business.

Since joining RKW more than eight years ago as Sales Director, Mr Oliver has played a key role in driving commercial growth and strengthening strategic customer relationships. Most recently serving as Commercial Director for Home & Outdoor, he brings more than two decades of experience across sales, retail and commercial leadership.
