Addis managing director Martyn Lee-Smith said: “The Rainy Day Trust is such a worthwhile cause and it was a natural link for us being in housewares. Supporting a charity that is so close to our hearts is our absolute privilege.

“In being a partner, we hope to be able to raise the profile and awareness of the Rainy Day Trust through our connections within the housewares industry. No-one knows what life may throw at them, and it is comforting to know that there is support available for us all within the housewares industry to fall back on if we need it at any time.”

Founded in 1780 when William Addis invented the world’s first toothbrush, Addis now makes a wide range of housewares spanning laundrycare, storageware and cleaning products.

The Rainy Day Trust, founded in 1843, provides financial and other support for everyone working in or who has worked in the home improvement and housewares industry in any capacity, and who now finds that they need a helping hand.
