The John Lewis Partnership has done it again, topping a poll of consumers’ best-loved shops just weeks after similar findings in another survey.

In the latest research, by consumer magazine Which?, Waitrose was voted Britain’s favourite shop for the second year running. The survey of over 14,000 shoppers, which is the UK’s biggest survey of high street shops, gave Waitrose top marks for convenience, pleasant store environment, helpful staff and quality products.
John Lewis came second overall and was rated top in every sector in which it trades.
It is the fourth year in succession that John Lewis and Waitrose, which together form the John Lewis Partnership, have claimed the top two spots.
JLP chairman Charlie Mayfield said: “This is a huge accolade for the John Lewis Partnership. I hope that all our employees, who as partners own our business, will feel proud to see their efforts recognised in this way. It demonstrates the commitment of partners to making our customers’ experience of shopping in Waitrose and John Lewis stand out from the crowd.”
Earlier this month, a Verdict Research poll named John Lewis as the nation’s favourite retailer for a second year running.
