A new TV advertising campaign from Argos puts the spotlight on homeware brands and products.

‘Ballooniverse’ is the fifth TV spot in the GET SET GO ARGOS campaign, which launched last October. Set in the white ‘third space’ which provides the backdrop for all the GET SET GO ads, ‘Ballooniverse’ hightlights key products from Argos’ homewares and furniture range.
The ad shows a huge white warehouse filled with white balloons of varying sizes. The camera tracks the balloons as they burst one by one in a sequence of choreography, to reveal Argos home products from brands such as Habitat and Heart of House, in time to the electronic track ‘Tiger Toy’ by Electrocute.
The colourful products are juxtaposed with the white space and configured in abstract installations, in the style of previous adverts – underlining the retailer’s strategy to become a digital retail leader and build interest and appeal amongst a broad demographic of online and in-store shoppers.
The campaign, which will span TV, online and social media, is part of the Argos Home Event, which will promote a UK-wide sale on homewares, furniture and lighting. An accompanying Twitter competition gives players the opportunity to win Argos vouchers and daily prizes from the range displayed in the ad, encouraging them to discover the rest of the range online.
Argos head of brand marketing Carl Nield said: “‘Ballooniverse’ is the very latest phase of our highly popular GET SET GO ARGOS campaign, and continues to show us in a fresh, new light. We’re confident this campaign will prompt valued customers to shop with us more often across our wide-ranging, stylish and great value homewares and furniture offer.”
