Rugby’s Baby Barn Pram and Nursery Centre is the inaugural winner of the bira independent retailing team of the year prize.
The award was created in response to comments by members of bira (British Independent Retailers Association) that their businesses would be lost without the dedication and support of their teams on a daily basis.
The team that impressed the judges the most is described as “dedicated and very enthusiastic. They are committed to ensuring the success of the business and consistently delivering a high level of customer service. They work well together, complementing one another’s strengths and weaknesses, giving the business owner great confidence in the future of the business.”
The judges added: “This team do not rest on their laurels and are always striving to improve on what they do, and each member of the team contributes and has an overall positive impact on the business.”
Baby Barn Pram and Nursery Centre proprietor Sue Dronfield commented: “We’re chuffed to bits with this. It’s recognition for all the hard work behind the scenes.”
She collected the award, which was presented by divisional sales manager Matthew Aston of sponsor LG Harris, at the bira High Street Conference on May 11.
The other finalists in the category were from Ron Smith & Co and Mantons Cards.
