Bentalls in the Surrey town of Kingston-upon-Thames has opened the pages of its ‘Living Kitchen Diary’ for May.

Bentalls gets busy in the kitchen

This flagship department store of the Fenwick group features a ‘Living Kitchen’ on its lower ground floor which it describes as a ‘unique concept’ to showcase American kitchen appliances such as Wolf Cooking Instruments and Sub-Zero Refrigeration. It is also home to a packed calendar of demos, tastings and celebrity chef visits, as well as interactive cookery workshops for kids.

Last Saturday TV chef Malcolm Harradine paid a visit to the Living Kitchen to host a ‘Food for Friends’ event, aimed at showing shoppers how to entertain with ease. On Wednesday, focaccia bread making and oils was the focus of a demo in the Living Kitchen.

Next Wednesday (May 15) the subject is meringue making with KitchenAid, while next Saturday (May 18) chef Paul Bough will be popping by to demonstrate how to get the most out of Staub cast iron and Zwilling Henckels cookware. Bentalls is offering a 10% discount on any Staub or Zwilling Henckels cookware purchased on the day.

On Wednesday May 22, KitchenAid takes centre stage again with a fresh ice-cream demo.

Finally, on Wednesday May 29, it’s half term fun with kids’ cookery workshops: Malcolm will be back in the Living Kitchen teaching children how to cook snacks and meals.
