BHETA (The British Home Enhancement Association) hosted 28 of its members with the buying teams from John Lewis Cookshop (JLP) and Utility at a face to face Meet The Buyer event, which took place on May 2 at the Hilton Watford.
JLP’s objective was to meet new suppliers, see innovative brands, and be shown sustainable materials and eco stories in the form of range offerings across the following categories:
- Home storage
- Bath accessories
- Towels
- Cook & bakeware
- Picnic
- Food prep & gadgets
- Kitchen textiles
- Barware including wine racks
- Food on the go including back to school
- Food storage including freezer and fridge storage
Seema Grantham, BHETA’s Sector Manager for Housewares and Small Electrical, said: “BHETA’s Meet the Buyer days are always a highlight, providing members with potential new opportunities. This event went very well, and I’d like to thank Lisa Rutherford and the JLP team for taking part.”
Each supplier was allocated a 20-minute appointment with the relevant buyer in one or more categories.
Will Jones, BHETA’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Meet the Buyer days are something that BHETA has pioneered for a number of years. They are always popular with members and retailers benefit from the opportunity to have a day of potential new supplier meetings organised for them.
“If any retailer or merchant in the home sector feels the time is right for BHETA to organise a Meet the Buyer day for them then please get in touch.”
