Small shops get their first big bonus from the merger of trade associations BHF and BSSA with a new credit card deal.
Offered through HSBC Merchant Services, it will cut shops’ card costs to 1.195%, and could take them as low as 0.995%.
BHF Group members switching from any other provider are being offered three months’ free terminal rental to encourage them to switch to the new deal. To make the switch, members need to phone the new customer telephone number of 0800 731 8921 or, for further advice, the BHF-BSSA Group membership department on 01295 713 333.
Paul Woolley, BHF-BSSA Group commercial director, said the move was “just the start of improving our membership services to our retail members, and there will be more benefits to come in December, when we’ll be launching a free banking offer that will give the retailer 18 months’ free banking and an exclusive preferential tariff thereafter.”
