Borough Kitchen to open third store

Borough Kitchen is set to launch a new cookshop, at Chiswick in west London, in late April.

Located at 186 Chiswick High Road, the store will be accompanied by a Cook School, powered by Gaggenau kitchen equipment.

The independent specialist said: ‘Our new cookshop will feature everything you need for cooking and entertaining – from the kitchen to the table.

‘Our passion is around finding the best tools for the job from around the globe, with a focus on quality, functionality and durability.

‘We tightly edit the range to offer the Best of the Best and, where there is a high-quality value alternative, the Best of Value. We are known for rigorously testing and selecting the best products in each category.

‘Our other services include wedding registry and personal shopping, to help our customers put together the perfect collection of cookware and tableware to use in their homes.’

The retailer opened its first branch in September 2013 at 16 Borough High Street within Borough Market: south London’s food-centric market in Southwark. This was followed by a second branch, at 1 Hampstead High Street in north London, in May 2015.

Borough Kitchen launched its first Cook School in Hampstead in October 2015 and relaunched its online store www.boroughkitchen.com in November 2015.

Catering to the urban home cook, Cook School classes focus on culinary techniques ‘that can be applied to any style of cooking’, led by a classically-trained chef. A range of courses is offered with more to come soon, including wine pairing, canapés, and holiday baking.

Another independent specialist, Whisk Cookshop, has been open at 1A Devonshire Road in Chiswick since 2004.

Borough Kitchen’s Hampstead branch was a finalist in the Britain’s Best Rising Star category of The Housewares Innovation Awards 2016, organised by www.HousewaresLive.net and Housewares Magazine.
