”The Great British Bake Off’ contestant, baker and author Cathryn Dresser is the latest name to sign up to the Housewares Innovation Product Awards judging panel.
Since reaching the quarter-finals of the third series of the hit BBC1 show in 2012, Cathryn has written a children’s cookbook, done demos at events including The BBC Good Food Show and The Cake and Bake Show, and appeared on ITV’s ‘This Morning’.
More recently, Cathryn teamed up with Pyrex to celebrate Pyrex National Baking Week, held from October 13-19, creating exclusive recipes for the event. In addition to serving on the judging panel, she will attend the Housewares Conference where she will sign copies of her book, ‘Let’s Bake’.
She joins five other judges, with decades of culinary experience between them. They are: Trisha Schofield, head of testing for the Good Housekeeping Institute; chef, culinary innovator, TV presenter, author and British Ambassador for Food, Drink and Tourism Alan Coxon; Sally Fitzgerald, editor of the ‘Food Heaven’ series of consumer magazines and TV chef Malcolm Harradine and his wife, customer liaison director Mel Harradine.
Organised by Housewares Magazine and www.HousewaresLive.net, the Innovation Awards aim to celebrate innovation in the housewares industry. The Retail Awards reward businesses that go the extra mile, while the Product Awards commend the most exceptional housewares products launched in the past 12 months.
The winners of the Innovation Awards will be announced during an evening ceremony held at Wokefield Park in Berkshire on Wednesday April 22 2015. This glittering event will follow The Housewares Conference, which takes place during the day at the same venue.
The Innovation Awards will be presented by globally acclaimed celebrity chef Ken Hom OBE, who is widely regarded as the world’s leading authority in Chinese cookery.
