Housewares Business-to-business magazine for housewares retailers and their suppliers
London-based housewares distributor Chomette has gone into administration, though is continuing to trade.
David Riley and David Dunckley of Grant Thornton UK LLP were appointed joint administrators of Chomette on July 16.
Grant Thornton said: “The business is currently continuing to trade and interested parties should contact our associate director of recovery & reorganisation Adam Mitchell on 020 7865 2564.” However, the administrators declined to comment on whether there are any potential buyers at this stage.
While there may be companies wishing to take on the whole of the Chomette operation, it is also possible that buyers could be looking to cherry-pick from the company’s diverse portfolio of brands.
Chomette imports and distributes tableware, glass, ceramics, kitchenware, and cutlery in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Current ranges include Peugeot, Emile Henry, Zak Designs, Pillivuyt, Krosno, Ego Alter, SKK, De Buyer, plus Rösle, the Zoku Quick Pop Maker and Plastik Patrik.
