Cook To Perfection’s gift to the Hairy Bikers is no lemon

Last week the Hairy Bikers visited King’s Lynn’s Corn Exchange theatre as part of their UK-wide Larger than Live Tour.

Cook To Perfection's gift to the Hairy Bikers is no lemon

When the hirsute pair of TV cooks arrived at the venue, a small gift bag was waiting for each of them in their dressing room, from local independent cookshop retailer Cook to Perfection. Inside was the Lekue Citrus Spray distributed by JWP, amongst other goodies.

The Hairy Bikers – aka Si King and Dave Myers – tweeted Cook to Perfection to thank them for the “amazing lemon thingy” and said they would be using it in their show that night – which they did.

When cooking a salmon dish, the duo demonstrated the Lekue Citrus Spray to the audience, mentioning Cook to Perfection. The following day the cookshop sold out of the citrus spray by lunchtime, and had to start a waiting list!

During the afternoon the Hairy Bikers manager popped into the store looking for more of the sprays as spares, because the Bikers were that “blown away” with the gadget, and were planning to demo it on the rest of the tour.

As Cook to Perfection had sold out, a special order was put into JWP and plans made to post the sprays on to the Hairy Bikers at the next theatre.

Cook to Perfection also got a mention on the second evening of the show and received tweets from audience members asking if they had the gadget in stock!

Owners Alastair and Melanie Done are exceptionally pleased with the publicity they received locally, and are excited to have influenced the Hairy Bikers tour, which runs until April 10.

The celebrity duo are appearing at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre tonight and tomorrow and in Folkestone on Saturday, followed by Brighton, Leicester, Wycombe, Guildford, Croydon, Southampton, Leeds, Skegness, Ipswich, Halifax, Blackpool, Belfast and Derry.
