Cooking Marvellous receives a Queen's Award For Enterprise

Cooking Marvellous has been recognised for the increase in its overseas sales over a three-year period. The company, which is run by mother and daughter team Joan Woulfe and Katie Smith, operates a packing and dispatch warehouse at Battlefield Enterprise Park in Shrewsbury for its online business (www.cookingmarvellous.com), as well as a high street retail outlet at 3 Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury.

The business packs and dispatches thousands of orders a week, containing housewares and grocery products, of which 65% are sent outside the UK, to more than 90 different countries.

Cooking Marvellous managing director Joan Woulfe said she was “absolutely thrilled” with the news of the Award, adding: “Cooking Marvellous is proud to export products to countries all over the world. As winners, we’ve been invited to go to Buckingham Palace to attend a reception with the Queen. Before that, a representative of the Queen will come to our offices in Shrewsbury to formally confer us with the appointment. We will be allowed to use the award crest at our premises and on our websites for the next five years.”

Cooking Marvellous garnered another award last month when www.cookingmarvellous.com was crowned Britain’s Best Retail Website at the Housewares Innovation Awards, organised by Housewares Magazine and www.HousewaresLive.net.
