Cookware and tabletop sales up at John Lewis

Total sales for John Lewis & Partners were up 3.3% last week (to Saturday January 4) on last year, in what was the department store group’s first full week of Clearance.

Customer director Craig Inglis said: “Home sales were down 0.5%. However, Textiles & Home Accessories sales were up 3.4% and sales across Gifts, Cook & Dine were up 3.4% as customers enjoyed shopping for strong Clearance offers across Cookware and Tabletop.

“Electrical and Home Technology sales were up 4.4%. Communications Technology sales were up 0.4% and sales of Electricals were up 6.8% as customers shopped for Personal Care and Smart Home products.

“Fashion sales were up 6.4%, with Womenswear up 10.0% and Womenswear Accessories up 22.6%. Sales of Beauty, Wellbeing and Leisure were up 4.3% and Menswear sales were up 2.5%.”
