Debenhams unveils A/W19 home offer

Debenhams has revealed details of its Autumn/Winter 2019 home collections from designers Jasper Conran, Julien MacDonald, Matthew Williamson and Abigail Ahern.

The department store group said: ‘Abstract Expressionism and the American art scene of the 1950s are direct inspirations for the J by Jasper Conran A/W19 collection. Contemporary in its interpretation, the new collection presents a rich and bold combination of orange, blue and ochre hues, offset by dramatic monochrome sequences. Bold lines cut and curve to create dramatic prints, presented on luxury velvets, sumptuous cotton and natural linen fabrics. Decorative accessories are crafted in marble, brass and hand-blown art glass to create highly desirable design-led pieces for the modern home.

Star by Julien MacDonald returns for A/W19 bursting with all the decadent glamour and high fashion opulence we have come to expect from the designer. Delicate precious stones juxtapose chunky cut glass accessories for a modern edge, whilst bedding collections offer lustrous satins and shimmering sparkles. The designer’s signature metallic tones nod to the 1930s art deco influences seen in a delicate metallic geometric jacquard with complementing accessories and luxe sequin cushions for added drama.

‘Opulent and exquisite capture the essence of the MW by Matthew Williamson A/W19 collection. Influenced by sultry Persian gardens and mystical starry nights, sumptuous jewel tones dominate the range – enhanced by strikingly beautiful botanical prints and interesting pattern clashes featuring palm trees by night, plentiful detailed embellishments, and quilted motifs. This bohemian collection is a carefully considered juxtaposition of playful 1970s glamour: bold embroidered details, where layered tassel shades complement hand-crafted metallic planters and tinted glass vases, are typical of Matthew’s eclectic design approach.

Abigail Ahern brings her uniquely creative eye and famous love of dark, mystical interiors to her A/W19 collection. Drawing on inspiration from around the globe, the new collection remains in keeping with her signature handwriting. Oil slick glass accessories and richly beaded and embellished cushions ooze bold decadence and are key to the collection, whilst the llama and beetle join Abigail’s animal character line -up for A/W19.

‘Debenhams’ seasonal trend Danish Home is inspired by the aesthetics of cosy, yet minimalist Danish design. Tactile fabrics and finishes are significant for this range, whilst colours are earthy and organic, subtly lifted by washed teals and mossy greens .The new collection carefully blends texture, layered materials and soft hues, to create a minimalist yet impactful interiors statement. Key pieces include a cocoa brown leaf silhouette print, upscaled bamboo lanterns and lustre vases.’
