Divertimenti closes Marylebone store

London cookshop retailer Divertimenti has closed its West End store- but aims to open in a new premises in Marylebone in the autumn.

Divertimenti closes Marylebone store

The West End shop opened in 2002 at 33/34 Marylebone High Street and measured 4,000sq ft. Divertmenti managing director Maureen Williams told www.HousewaresLive.net: “We are just finalising the new location.”

She added that the Marylebone store’s cookery school has been relocated to Divertimenti’s South Kensington/Knightsbridge flagship branch at 227-229 Brompton Road, which also measures 4,000sq ft. Divertimenti Cookery School is described as ‘the place to learn about the culinary arts; from hands on masterclasses to experiencing Michelin-starred menus in a truly unique environment’. It caters for amateurs, enthusiasts and accomplished cooks alike with a diverse menu of classes featuring ‘the classics, the contemporary and tomorrow’s trends’.

Divertimenti celebrated its golden anniversary in 2013. The business was the brainchild of Mike and Suzy Schneideman: passionate foodies who wanted to offer ‘the finest kitchenware, cookware and tableware to Londoners’. In 2005 it was bought by AGA Rangemaster. Key products offered by Divertimenti include cookware, knives & boards, small electricals, tableware, bakeware, kitchenware, cooks’ tools, food and books.
