The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) is to hold another of its popular retailer networking webinars, this time with Dobbies. The event will take place on Wednesday 3rd May at 3:00pm. Richard Hodges, Dobbies’ Commercial Director will be the main speaker, and he will provide an update on the Dobbies business, its ownership, and its business strategy. Following the presentation there will be a Q&A session.
Dobbies was started in 1865 with James Dobbie created a business selling seeds. He named it Dobbie & Co. The company went on to build up a customer base and started opening garden centres that fast became go-to destinations. A turning point in the business came in 2019 with the acquisition of 37 stores, more than doubling the national footprint. It is now the UK’s leading garden centre retailer with 75 centres nationwide.
BHETA’s DIY & Gardening sector manager, Keeley Vernon commented, “The chance to speak directly to Dobbies is obviously a great opportunity and we are expecting an excellent turn-out to hear Richard’s presentation.”
