Housewares Business-to-business magazine for housewares retailers and their suppliers
The organiser of the Exclusively trade shows will introduce a new feature to the 2017 exhibitions called ‘Tomorrow’s Kitchen’.
This initiative aims to help visitors from both Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical, held from June 13 to June 14 at the Business Design Centre in London, review the latest advancements in the domestic kitchen.
Tomorrow’s Kitchen will not only feature ‘smart’ built-in appliances but will also give exhibitors the chance to showcase developments which affect their sector of the housewares or SDA (small domestic appliance) market.
Show director Simon Boyd explained: “With the housewares and SDA market facing new challenges, we feel it’s timely to invest in sharing a wider view of the future and showing how our exhibitor’s products will fit into prospective lifestyles and designs.
“Tomorrow’s Kitchen new feature will focus on a combination of technological, lifestyle and design items and features which are available now, or coming our way.
“Whilst new ‘smart’ products and apps tend to get most of the publicity, there are plenty of other factors which drive product innovation – some is legislation or safety-based and some relate to material changes or new ways of using existing materials.
“We’ll be consulting widely to ensure we have identified all the elements that retailers should be aware of when making future buying choices.”
Tomorrow’s Kitchen will be built on the Atrium level of the Business Design Centre, above the Gallery Hall where Exclusively Electrical currently takes place.
The product demo facility previously located in Exclusively Electrical will also move up to the Atrium level, and will be an integral part of Tomorrow’s Kitchen.
Celebrity chef Ken Hom OBE will be appearing in the demo kitchen on both days of the shows, in conjunction with regular Exclusively Housewares exhibitor DKB Household UK
The Atrium level will also house the Exclusively shows’ press office, a Design Trend product display – and a seminar theatre with content relevant to visitors of both shows.
There will be advice from leading food/cookery and home experts and a presentation from trend forecasters Scarlet Opus, highlighting the role of the kitchen in future lifestyles and which eating and cookery trends will be affecting product development.
The Exclusively trade shows are run for the housewares retail industry on behalf of the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA).
