Fifth-generation James joins Arthur Price

Cutlery manufacturer Arthur Price has welcomed the fifth generation of the family-owned firm to the company.

Fifth-generation James joins Arthur Price

Like his father and current CEO Simon Price, James Price has joined as an apprentice, starting as a distribution assistant in the warehouse.

Five consecutive generations of the Price family have now worked for the Lichfield-based company. Set up in Birmingham in 1902, the firm has always produced cutlery but more recently has diversified into everyday tableware and the designing and manufacturing of gifts. It recently marked a 10-year collaboration with interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Commenting on his son’s appointment, Simon said: “Our strapline, Be Part of The Family, is most important to me and I think it sums everything up. Arthur Price is a family of people and this is the main reason why the business is getting stronger in these difficult times.”

James added: “I‟m delighted to become the fifth generation Price to work for the family business…Not many companies have the privilege of such longevity, especially in these difficult times, and it is a testament to everybody in the business that we find ourselves in such a unique position.”
