The Giftware Association (GA) has announced the launch of its 2020 Gift of the Year competition – and promises that it’s set to be ‘the biggest and best yet’.
Now in its 42nd year, the contest is billed by GA as ‘the largest in the giftware sector, celebrating all things home and gift’. There are 20 award categories in total:
-Beauty, Bath & Spa: Products for grooming and beauty, health and wellbeing, or those that bring a touch of the spa into the home.
-Branded Gift: Any licensed product linked to well-known characters or entertainment brands.
-Cards & Wrap: Greetings cards, wrapping paper and gift boxes for any occasion.
-Children’s Gift: Toys, kits, and gadgets for children and infants.
-Commemorative & Collectable: Commemorative gifts for any occasion – collectibles, souvenirs, personalised products and trinkets.
-Contemporary Gift: Funky, design-led gifts with a quirky modern feel.
-Design & Craft: Products designed and made in smaller studios with the personal touch.
-Ethical Gift: Gifts that are Fair Trade, eco-friendly, or are produced to a high standard of worker welfare.
-Fashion Accessory: Wearable accessories including scarves, bags, purses and belts.
-Fashion Jewellery: Jewellery, trinkets, charms and bijoux made from metal, stone, ceramic, or wood, designed to accessorise an outfit.
-Festive & Occasions: Products specifically designed and themed around key calendar events or parties eg Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Hanukkah, Halloween, birthdays or anniversaries.
-Food & Drink: Gifts you can eat or drink, or kits to make your own food and beverages.
-Garden & Outdoor: Gifts for the green-thumbed and accessories for the outdoors.
-Home Accessory: Any item that adorns the home – modern, traditional, classic, country, urban living or fun and quirky.
-Home Fragrance: Products that bring scent into the home eg candles or reed diffusers.
-Kitchen & Dining: Gifts for budding chefs and those who love to entertain – tableware, glassware, cutlery, table decoration, kitchen gadgets and utensils.
-Novelty: Gifts with a touch of silliness (or naughtiness) and fun.
-Pet Gift: Gifts for pets such as food, accessories or bath products.
-Stationery: Gifts you can write in, with, or on eg diaries, calendars, notebooks, pens or pencils.
-Under £10: Any gift product retailing at £10 or below.
