HomePage News has released the third edition of its InSight Trend Index, unveiling the first of four digital portfolios for 2025/26 with a deep dive into the evolving world of at-home entertaining. Published on HomePageNews.com, the quarterly digital report – developed by the International Housewares Association (IHA) – highlights the lifestyle shifts that are set to drive home and housewares demand in the coming year.
Now in its third year, InSight combines product showcases, consumer data and expert commentary to provide practical, forward-looking trend intelligence. Each edition features products sourced from leading global trade shows and framed around the cultural and behavioural signals influencing how consumers furnish and use their homes.
Editor-in-chief Peter Giannetti said the new series takes a more narrative and consumer-led direction: “In its third year, InSight is more consumer-focused and takes a story-based approach to presenting new products across many categories and functions that embody key trends. The new InSight also features a holistic approach to trend-affirming market data, integrating exclusive analysis from HomePage News and its parent, IHA.”
The Fall/Winter 2025/26 portfolio explores the “new era of at-home entertaining”, showing how consumers are prioritising connection, comfort and authenticity over polished perfection. According to the report, modern hosting is becoming more intentional, with an emphasis on meaningful experiences, smaller gatherings and shared activities such as collaborative cooking or creative projects.
It identifies four emerging aspirations shaping the way people entertain:
• Quality over quantity – more intimate, purposeful gatherings.
• Authenticity and intention – a focus on genuine engagement.
• Shared experiences – participatory moments that encourage connection.
• Genuine presence – hosts who can fully relax into the occasion.
Chief curator and author Tom Mirabile, Founder of Springboard Futures, said hosting today is centred on emotional connection rather than showmanship.“Hospitality is not about wowing guests with a flawless presentation, but creating an environment for sharing and interaction. Designing for mood, storytelling and experience is increasingly important, but so is the ‘sharing’ aspect. This new perspective sees hosting as an opportunity to genuinely share our space, time and attention.”
The digital portfolio also details design directions including Postminimalism and Neo-Traditional, and highlights products that help create feel-good atmospheres – from functional entertaining essentials to trend-forward ideas like cosy game-night setups.
Produced quarterly by HomePage News with Mirabile and the Springboard Futures team, along with creative director Dawn Evans, the full Fall/Winter 2025/26 InSight Trend Index is available now at HomePageNews.com.
