Companies from across the housewares spectrum were celebrating on Friday as they walked away from the 2009 Industry Awards bearing a Gold or Silver accolade for their new product.

Retailers and suppliers packed into the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London for the event, compered by top comedian Rhod Gilbert, which honours the crème de la crème of product innovation.
The housewares Awards were made in four categories, each providing a top accolade of Gold and a number of Silver.
In the Cookware & Bakeware category, Gold was awarded to Eddingtons for its Poach Perfect silicone egg poacher.
Le Creuset took Silver for its toughened non-stick frypans, while Typhoon won with its environmentally-friendly Greenpan range as did Kitchen Craft for its Master Class Smart Silicone bakeware.
The Kitchenware category saw Joseph Joseph take Gold for its Nest8 preparation bowls, while a raft of companies received Silver.
Fiskars was recognised for its range of Control knives, while Kitchen Craft also took Silver for its Miniamo cakestand.
Silver in Kitchenware also went to OXO for POP containers and DKB Household for its Cole & Mason Buzz Revolution mill. And Kuhn Rikon won Silver for its Colori serrated knife.
The Small Electricals category awarded Gold to CellarDine for its Pizza Dome, and there were three Silvers.
Kenwood won for its Smoothie 2Go, De Longhi for its Icona toaster and Horwood took the accolade for the Judge Mini Chopper.
Finally, Gold in the Tabletop category was scooped by Pacific Marketing International for its AVEO recycled tumbler, while Silver Awards went to Creative Tops for its range of V&A mugs, Kitchen Craft again for the Miniamo Adventures in Space children’s tableware set.
