Housewares Magazine is inviting retailers across the UK and Ireland to showcase their visual merchandising skills as entries open for its annual Summer Window Competition.
The competition is open to all housewares retailers, including department stores, garden centres, independent cookshops and specialist housewares stores. Retailers are encouraged to create eye-catching displays that capture the spirit of the season while highlighting products, brands and in-store creativity.
Entrants are asked to submit a short description of their display, together with at least two photographs, by July 31.
Housewares Magazine Editor Will McGill said: “Summer is a great time for retailers to have a bit of fun with their displays, whether that’s celebrating outdoor dining, colourful kitchenware, seasonal entertaining or simply creating something that makes people stop and take a look.
“We know there are some brilliant visual merchandisers working across the housewares sector, from department stores and garden centres to independent cookshops and specialist retailers, and this competition is a chance to give them the recognition they deserve.
“So get snapping, send us a couple of photos and tell us the story behind your display. We’re looking forward to seeing your entries – and if nothing else, it’s the perfect excuse to spend a little more time window shopping while you’re at work.”
Entries will be judged on visual impact, originality, product presentation and overall execution, with the results being revealed in the August/September edition of the magazine.
To enter, retailers should email a brief description of their display, along with a couple of photographs, to Editor Will McGill before the closing date of 31 July.
