Imperial signs Tatty Teddy kitchenware deal

Carte Blanche’s Me to You brand was launched in 1995 and features on cards, stationery, clothing, jewellery, chocolates and plush toys: over 60m bears have been sold since launch. The deal with Imperial will now see it extend into new product categories, with ranges of kitchen accessories, kitchen textiles and food storage set to launch at this year’s Exclusively Housewares.

The design elements focus on Tatty Teddy, with application onto aprons, tea towels and oven gloves and storage canisters for dry foods such as tea, coffee and sugar. It is planned that the range will be further developed into other kitchenware accessories including worktop savers, cookware, bakeware, scales, tools and gadgets and plastic food and home utility storage.

“The addition of the Me to You brand to our portfolio greatly enhances our range of branded kitchenware,” commented Imperial’s commercial director John Newcomb. “Demand for mid to premium housewares products has been steadily growing in the last year, and this new partnership will allow Imperial to meet that demand and provide our housewares retailers with a new and very strong brand in 2010.”
