Better-than-expected business has led the first John Lewis at Home to extend trading times in the run-up to Christmas, the retailer said today.

Shoppers at the Poole store will now have 64 extra shopping hours as the festive season approaches.
The popularity of the new-format John Lewis, which opened its doors on October 22, has surprised even its managers.
Branch manager James Prince said: “The customer response to our new shop has been fantastic and trade has been much higher than anticipated. We planned longer hours a few weeks before Christmas, but due to customer demand decided to increase our trading hours from this week.”
The shop is now open 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, with a further extra hour on Sundays in December.
