John Lewis has partnered with Danish artist and graphic designer Anine Cecilie Iversen to launch a new 114-piece homeware collection, arriving in time for Mother’s Day.

The exclusive range blends modern florals with a distinctly Scandinavian aesthetic, with designs appearing across textiles, tableware, lighting and home accessories. Inspiration for the collaboration comes from the idea of a “Scandinavian retro summer cottage”, combining bright harmonious colours, classic patterns and bold shapes.

Fionnuala Johnston, Design Manager of Home at John Lewis, said: “We’re delighted that Anine has collaborated with us to create this collection. The mix of modern florals and Scandinavian style lends itself beautifully to this collection.”

The range has been designed to reinterpret floral motifs with graphic shapes and vibrant colour palettes, bringing Iversen’s distinctive illustration style into the homeware category.

Iversen’s work has already proven popular with John Lewis customers as the artist behind the retailer’s art collection La Poire, with sales from the series increasing by 60% compared with last year.

Inspired heavily by nature, the artist is known for her pared-back design approach, simple illustrations and bold colour combinations. A self-taught painter, Iversen was first introduced to watercolours by her father, an art teacher, during her childhood.

Speaking about the collaboration, Iversen said: “My childhood has inspired this collection – all my summer memories are reflected in these illustrations. My family home was surrounded by nature which I always found so calming and inspiring.

“I’ve always had a passion for creating and expressing myself visually. This opportunity with John Lewis has enabled me to explore a way to transport my designs onto a different medium, which has been a wonderful opportunity.”

The collection includes cushions, tableware, bed linen, textiles, lighting and decorative accessories and is available in stores and online.
