Kitchen stand mixers sell like hot cakes at Currys & PC World

Dixons Retail has seen a whopping 65% increase on all kitchen stand mixers and kitchen machines at its Currys & PC World chain since the return of the popular BBC2 show ‘The Great British Bake Off’.

The success in sales of products such as the KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer, Kenwood Patissier food mixer and Breville SHM2 food mixer at the electricals specialist, all coincide with the new TV series of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood’s baking battle on our screens.

Victoria Bennion, ýcategory manager for small kitchen appliances at Currys & PC World commented: “In the last two weeks, Currys & PC World has seen a huge increase in sales of kitchen stand mixers. The 65% surge suggests that home baking and cooking is on the rise and we expect them to continue to be popular. ‘The Great British Bake Off’ is a great show and proves that anyone can bake from the comfort of their home.”

Currys stock an extensive range of baking products, including professional mixers from Kitchenaid, as well as a host of other kitchen appliances including Breville and Bodum ranges.

Currys and PC World operates multi-channel businesses in 12 countries and pure play operations in 14 countries. It has 1,100 stores and nearly 36,000 staff.
