Housewares Magazine and www.housewareslive.net are thrilled to announce that celebrity Lisa Faulkner will be hosting our Housewares Innovation Awards ceremony.

Lisa Faulkner to host Housewares Innovation Awards

The evening event, which is now in its sixth year, will take place on April 22 at Selsdon Park in Croydon, Surrey. It follows the Housewares Conference, which takes place at the same venue during the day.

Lisa is both a celebrated actress and a cook. She said: “I really like doing both, and since winning Celebrity MasterChef in 2010 [beating Christine Hamilton and Dick Strawbridge in the final], my life has changed enormously; so much so, that I now think of cooking as part of my job, and I love it.

“I’ve been lucky enough to have written two books, which I’m really proud of [‘Recipes from my Mother for my Daughter’ and ”The Way I Cook’] and the response has been truly overwhelming. It has been hard work, but trying out the recipes and recreating them for my friends and family makes it all the more enjoyable.”

Lisa recently published her third book, entitled ‘Tea & Cake’, which is currently riding high in the best sellers chart. In it, she shares her tried-and-tested methods for creating the perfect partner for a host of teas. It features recipes for biscuits, cakes, tarts and pies and an entire chapter devoted to all things chocolate.

During her acting career, she has played roles in several TV shows including ”Brookside’, ‘Holby City’, ‘Spooks’, ‘Dangerfield’, ‘Murder in Suburbia’ and ‘Murdoch Mysteries’, among others. She also co-hosted ‘Real Food Family Cook Off’ on Channel 5 with Matt Dawson in 2011, and in 2013, she co-hosted the daytime Channel 4 series ‘What’s Cooking?’ alongside Ben Shephard.

There are two categories of Housewares Innovation Awards, for products and retailers, and a Housewares Salesperson Award. The Product Innovation Awards commend the most exceptional housewares products launched last year. The Retailer Innovation Awards reward businesses that go the extra mile in supporting, educating and communicating with their customers.

Please see www.housewaresconference.co.uk for more information. The Box Office is now open, with a reduced price if you book your place at The Housewares Conference and your ticket for the Housewares Innovation Awards at the same time. A further discounted price for retailers is also available. For details, contact Laurie Marrington on lmarrington@datateam.co.uk.
