Home Hardware appoints new director

Home Hardware chairman David Adams said “I’m delighted that Jonty has agreed to join the board. He has a wealth of retail experience, is well known in the industry, and as well as his knowledge and enthusiasm he will also extend our geographic representation in the North of England.

“This brings the number of retail members of the board up to nine, covering a variety of sizes of stores and locations across the country. Home Hardware is much more than just another supplier. It is owned and run by its retailers and everything we do is for the benefit of our retail members.”

Jonty Mayo said: “Becoming a member of Home Hardware has had a tremendous benefit to our business, way beyond my original expectations. I look forward to being able to make a contribution to the ongoing success and development for the retail members, which I care deeply about.”

Home Hardware is dealer-owned and is the largest organisation of its kind in the UK for independent hardware stores. The company has more than 400 members including independent hardware retailers, housewares shops, cookshops, ironmongers and garden centres.

Headquartered at Barnstaple in Devon, its mission is ‘to supply independent retailers with quality products and services, to provide them with programmes to operate efficient and profitable stores, and to assist them in serving the customer with competitive prices and superior service’.
