Lords opens in London’s St Johns Wood

Housewares chain Lords, formerly known as Lords of Notting Hill, has opened its latest store in the north-west London district of St Johns Wood: a very affluent neighbourhood in the area postcode of NW8.

Lords have created an enhanced store format, described as its ‘boutique’ offering, with fittings and graphic features ‘that reinforce the company as the local housewares retailer of choice, dedicated to the supply of design-led aspirational products for the home’.

Lords ceo Shanker Patel said: “We knew we had to change the game with this location and our latest offering is a result of an extensive inward-looking analysis of our products, our customer and our store environment. After five months of research we’re delighted with our rebrand from Lords of Notting Hill to Lords, and our latest store format has been met with resounding applause from our customers in St Johns Wood.”

He added: “We’re delighted to add St Johns Wood to our expanding store portfolio. We will be working on our next store design for Hampstead – the world’s most written about urban village. Again, extensive research and analysis of the area, the local population and local surroundings will feature in the store offering.” The company said it intends to ‘redefine ‘Local’ with the change of the store from ‘Andrews of Hampstead’ to ‘Lords – At Home with Quality in Hampstead’.

Lords are looking to expand further with more acquisitions in the pipeline for 2015.
