Manchester launches citywide mystery shopper campaign

The Heart of Manchester Business Improvement District (BID) has launched a Mystery Shopping campaign to evaluate the quality of customer service given by retailers in the city centre.

Independent mystery shopping company StoreCheckers will undertake unannounced visits to shops during April and May.

With over 380 retailers involved, the mystery shopping exercise will identify the strengths and weaknesses of Manchester stores, showcase leading retailers and highlight where improvements can be made.

The top scoring businesses will be invited to an Awards Breakfast in late May. The ‘Best of the Best’ will then be invited to the Retail Trust’s Midsummer Celebration on June 16 at Manchester Cathedral.

Heart of Manchester BID manager Phil Schulze said: “As part of the BID’s range of services, the launch of a citywide Mystery Shopping scheme demonstrates an ongoing commitment to ensuring that the shopping experience in Manchester is the best it can be, whilst at the same time celebrating excellent customer service in our stores.”
