Portmeirion Group has named Michael Haynes as its UK managing director.
The tabletop company says that the promotion of Haynes – formerly group sales & marketing director – recognises his major contribution to the company’s success.
Haynes joined Portmeirion in 2004 and was appointed to the board at the beginning of 2007.
CEO Lawrence Bryan said: “Michael’s commitment to Portmeirion Group is a given. His contribution to the company to date has been a significant factor in our on-going success, and we believe his new appointment will take us forward and help implement and nurture our brands.”
Haynes’ appointment is not a direct replacement but due to the fact that the configuration of the Portmeirion board has changed. It also reflects the fact that the majority of functions within Portmeirion Group now report to him.
