Marks & Spencer has closed its Riverside Retail Park store in Warrington less than a year after it first opened.
The 6,000 sq ft store, which stocked fashion, homeware and beauty products, welcomed customers for the final time on 25 June, having opened in July 2025.
M&S announced the closure last month, saying the store’s performance had not reached the level required.
Regional Manager Pete Dobson said: “We’d like to thank all of our customers who have shopped with us and our colleagues.”
Customers in the area will continue to be served by the retailer’s stores at Gemini Retail Park and the Stockton Heath Foodhall.
The Warrington closure follows the closure of M&S’s Newport store, which ceased trading on 24 June following the expiry of its lease. The retailer has also confirmed that its Walton-on-the-Naze store in Essex will close later this year.
The closures form part of M&S’s ongoing store rotation programme, through which the retailer is reshaping its estate by closing underperforming or outdated locations while investing in larger, food-led stores in more accessible locations.
Earlier this year, M&S also closed its long-standing Oxford Street store in Swansea as part of the wider programme.
The retailer has previously said the strategy is focused on creating a modern store portfolio that better reflects changing shopping habits and supports its long-term growth plans.
